The School of Natural Healing

Years ago, 2002 to be exact, I started homeschooling my youngest child and belonged to an online support group. We were an odd bunch of moms who homeschooled and believed in natural healing methods, among other oddities. From this group, I learned about The School of Natural Healing (a correspondence-only school) and some of their offerings. When I moved from Oregon to Utah the next year, I learned that the school was located about 3 miles from my home! I had not taken any courses at that point, but within the year, I signed up for their first course, The Family Herbalist. I was amazed at how much information was in that one course and how incredibly empowered I felt in regards to having the knowledge and skills to take care of my own family's health needs.

I knew there was a program offered by the school called the Master Herbalist. I had friends who were working towards that, and one good friend who had completed it and worked at the school, but I was involved in a number of other things, so I didn't give it a whole lot of thought. Then last year I created a vision board that is the background on my computer screen, and one of the things I included was The School of Natural Healing's logo with "Master Herbalist" written below it. I decided that I wanted to get all of the knowledge that was there for the taking, but the whole program was beyond my financial reach at the time.

Enter the phone call from my good friend, Mishelle, who is the one working at the school. She thought I might be interested in a part time job, and I was! So I'm now working at the school and being a student at the same time. I am on the brink of completing the Nutritional Herbologist portion and then will continue on to the Herbalist, Advanced Herbalist, and then will finally attend the Master Herbalist seminar. It is held only one week a year, and happens to be going on as I write this. I'm looking forward to having more and more skills to help myself, my family, and others live happier lives through better health.

The School of Natural Healing also has courses in Homeopathy, Iridology, Reflexology, and Aromatherapy. I want to take them all!

The best place to start is with the Family Herbalist course. You can take it online or by correspondence. Go here and see all that is included (be sure to click on the "Course" tab and read all about everything that is included.) It is incredibly packed with excellent information. You'll be so glad you did!
